ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE AND PERCEIVED EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS OF INDUSTRIAL EDUCATION GRADUATES UNDER NEW CURRICULUM

Abstract

This study identified the relationship between the academic performance and the perceived employability skills of the first batch of Bachelor of Science in Industrial Education graduates of Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology San Isidro Campus under the K to 12 Curriculum, during the 2nd semester of A.Y. 2022-2023. The profile of the BSIE graduates in terms of their academic performance in Teaching Internship and Course Audit were identified. The respondents’ perceived employability skills in terms of their communication skills, critical thinking skills, collaboration skills, technological skills, and teaching skills were also identified. The results of the study revealed that of all the given employability skills, there is a significant relationship between the Critical Thinking Skills of the student-respondents and their academic performance in Teaching Internship and Course Audit.
