ANALYSIS, DESIGN AND ESTIMATION A MEDIUM SCALE BUILDING | |
Author Name Balamurugan K, Ajay nivesh M, Ranjitham M Abstract This journal explores the sustainable design, structural analysis, and cost estimation of a two-story residential building, balancing economic efficiency with environmental responsibility. The design begins with a 2D architectural plan, adhering to local municipal regulations to ensure compliance and optimize space utilization. Passive strategies, such as maximizing natural light and ventilation, reduce the building's reliance on artificial lighting and air conditioning, leading to lower energy consumption. Structural analysis, performed using STAAD Pro software, follows Indian Standard codes to confirm stability, safety, and longevity. Sustainable materials, chosen for their lower carbon footprint compared to conventional resources, support environmental goals while achieving an estimated 20% reduction in construction costs. Detailed cost estimation, including material requirements, quantities, and associated costs, facilitates precise financial planning. By integrating eco-friendly materials and passive design principles, this project demonstrates the feasibility of eco-sensitive construction in medium-scale residential projects, highlighting a model for sustainable urban housing that meets standards of safety, functionality, and environmental stewardship.
