| ASSESSMENT OF SURFACE AND GROUNDWATER QUALITY OF ANEKAL TALUK USING ADVANCED TECHNIQUES |

Author Name NAGARAJ, PRABHULING, MOHAMMED SHAKEEB AHMED, MD ABUL BASHAR and DR NANDEESHA Abstract In this study the suitability of groundwater quality for drinking and agricultural purposes was assessed in the rural areas of Anekal taluk based on the various water quality parameters. A total of 50 surface water and 10 groundwater samples were collected randomly from different sources and analyzed for major ion chemistry to understand the operating mechanism of geochemical processes for groundwater quality. The quality analysis is performed through the estimation of pH, EC, TDS, total hardness, total alkalinity, Cl, NO3, SO4, Cu, Ni, Zn and Pb etc. Key Words: WATER QUALITY ASSESSMENT, WQI, GIS CONTOURING, HEAVY METAL ANALYSIS.
