Central to Gandhi’s vision of independence was the active participation of women, not only as supporters but also as integral figures in the Gandhian movements. This paper examines the role of women in the social and political movements led by Gandhi, analyzing their contributions to the campaigns of non-violence, civil disobedience, and social reforms. It further explores Gandhi’s views on women, the empowerment they found through his leadership, and the broader impact on India’s feminist movements.
